A church within our community put together a re-enactment of the town of Bethlehem.
It was AWESOME!!!!
The kids had SO much fun and it really taught the kids a lot.
It started off by having to pay your taxes (diapers that were donated to a local children's' shelter) and a visit by the guards.
We had to explain to them our reason for entering the city.
Then we had to sign the census.
The event was very hands-on. We got to do LOTS of fun things, like...
Go to the carpentry shop and learn how to drill a hole.
I bet it took a really long time to build a house without a drill!!

Play with clay and see how pottery was made.
Vases and dishes - good thing we have Target now!

We re approached by a magi (one of the Three Wise men).
He was looking for a baby that had been born in the town of Bethlehem.
"He is our new king."
A stop at the herb shop where Lexi ground up Rosemary.
This was such a wonderful event!
I really hope that they continue to do it every year!!
