ACL - DAY THREE!!

Day 3 of ACL Fest.. and it shows on ALL of our faces.
We were SO tired, but didn't even care!

These first few pics are small... tried to copy them off of Facebook, but can't figure out how to get them bigger..

The night closed with Pearl Jam...
One of my FAVORITE bands of ALL time!
They rocked it and I LOVED t!

With the divas!

YES,... this is ME!
I wore flip flops this day... NOT rain boots for fear that rain would get inside my boots and cause blisters. Flip Flops kept flinging
mud on my back and getting stuck in the mud!
So,... had to take them off...
NASTY!

Here's HOW BAD the mud was!
EASILY ankle deep in some places.

I thought this girl was getting creative and making the mud her "art"!

I believe this girl had a little bit TOO much "fun" and she was trying to wipe the mud off of her hands,... in the mud.

We got to jam out to B52's!
Sounded REALLY good!

Well,... another successful year!
Through heat, rain, and mud... we endured the elements to enjoy this beautiful town and the wonderful art of music!! ROCK ON!!

Thank you to my parents for coming to be with the kids!
They had a great time and it was nice to not have to worry about them.

ACL ~ DAY TWO:
We were feeling the tired form the night before, but we were ready to conquer the day!
Here's Big Daddy and Cooper before we head out:

Sooo,.... there was MUCH rain in the forecast,... so we search high and low for a rain poncho.
We find ONE
which is BURNT ORANGE!
So,.... it goes to Clarance!

I find two friends that are willing to share: Shannon & Joyce:

The crowd to get in, was horrible:

OH YES>....
Looking cute in our ponchos!

We met up with the DIVAS in the rain!

Clarence and I signed up at the Bone Marrow transplant booth...
We got temporary tattoos!

Lexi's Birthday dinner with Granny and Grand-daddy

For Lexi's Birthday Dinner with Granny and Grand-Daddy,
she wanted to go to Joe's Crab Shack!
She LOVES crab so much!!

Well,... OF COURSE we "accidentally" let it slip that it was her birthday!
They got her GOOD!

Our waiter took her in front of everyone and announced it was her birthday.
He had a bowl FULL of whip cream and 3 cherries.
If she could find all of the cherries with only her mouth by the time we got done singing
"Happy Birthday", the waiter would buy her meal.
So,... we all started singing and she DUG in with her face!

We were almost done singing and somebody came running out the kitchen, yelling:
"WAIT, WAIT... you forget the cherries!"
ha ha ha...

Lexi thought it was HILARIOUS!

Lexi's Birthday Sleepover

This year, instead of having a birthday party, she REALLY wanted to invite Aunt Suzie and a friend to go to "So You Think You Can Dance Tour". Clarence and I talked it over with her and agreed to it - BUT... she would NOT be having a party!! The show WAS her party. Everything was ALL good! Until....

her actual birthday started to get closer.
Since the SYTYCD show was a whole month away, we decided last minute to let her have 2 friends stay the night. BUT,... I would NOT plan any games, I would not decorate...
they would just hang out.

OH WAIT... it's never a good idea to have an uneven number of girls! 3 is a BAD number to have at a sleepover! OK,... let's do one more!
That makes 3 friends for a total of 4 girls.

Lexi is doing an ensemble with a great group of girls that are SO sweet! So,.... let's invite them 3. OH WAIT....
Lexi also really wanted another girl to come...

Decisions, decisions....

Well,.... what if we have just one more! I mean... she's not going to eat that much more pizza,... so what the difference?!?!

Well,... now that we've already broken the rules,... what about her friend that she is taking to the SYTYCD show? She's also a super sweet girl... Let's have her over as well...

And, so: may I present to you:
Lexi's impromptu Birthday Sleepover:

Enjoying her Happy Birthday Song!

AWESOME cake! Thanks Daisy for another stress-free year about the cake!

We had a surprise visit from Ali,...
she is a SUPER sweet girl who works with some of the girls at dance!

Piggies:

I LOVE this picture!

Being sweet...

... AND crazy!!

Enjoying Pizza:

The BEAUTIFUL part:
Lexi is at a GREAT age! I didn't have to plan anything - they just enjoyed being together and planned all of their own games! It was GREAT!

Lexi's Birthday Night:

The night of Lexi's birthday, Aunt Suzie came over.
We had s GREAT night!!

Clarence grilled burgers - one of Lexi's favorite foods.

Lexi got roller blades from us:

A Helmet from Suzie:

It was raining outside :(
So,... we let her skate in the house.
ha ha ha...
She had SO much fun!

Instead of a cake, we got her favorite ice creams:

She LOVED this idea SO much!!
Of course we served it in an ice cream cone!

Taking a time out for a family pic.

Lexi's 9th Birthday

Lexi turns 9!
SO hard to believe!!

She woke up to a Birthday Banner:

Of course, a birthday T-Shirt to wear to school!

I was a little nervous about the shirt. She is totally at the age
where she is SUPER picky!
But, she LOVED it! HOORAY!!

And,... of course,... a Birthday Breakfast Treat!:
A TEXAS sized Do-nut!!

Cooper and I went and had lunch with her at school!
Here she is being super silly with the orange:

Lexi and Hannah - a friend from school:

She had a great day!
