OUR GARDEN!

We each have a tree, and... Cooper's tree died.
So,... here is his new tree.
We are crossing our fingers!

Here's our peppers!

We lost the watermelon, cantaloupe, broccoli, & something else
in the hail storms.
But still,...
look at this!

Cooper's Bike Rodeo

Our church has an annual Bike Rodeo for the younger kids.
This year we didn't have to decorate the bikes -
I was kind of disappointed but kind of relieved.

I teach Kinder, and all of the other teachers were out that night, so I asked Cooper's teacher to take come pictures with my camera.

They basically, ride bikes on an obstacle course & stop at stations to play games.

Cooper getting his Bowl-On...

Getting all geared up!

April Fool's Day!

So, I TOTALLY messed up for April Fool's Day this year!
I thought it was the NEXT day and missed it!!
Guess I'll have to save my awesome trick for next year.

But, Lexi, on the other hand, worked really hard to pull this off.
She made this contraption and got Cooper to come and get me.

I go in her room and see a box with a metal tub on top.
There is a sign... "Lift Lid. Here is a good present. Love Lexi"
So, I lift the lid and out pops Lexi!
SOOOOO cute!!

OF COURSE, Cooper needed a turn...
so, we re-enacted everything!

I think I might be in trouble for future April Fools tricks!

Easter Egg Hunt

Here is our new veggie garden!
I have never been one to keep plants alive, so we decided to plant a veggie garden.
I think it is SO cute, and with the help of
Clarence & the kids, I am hoping to keep it alive!
We have tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, watermelon, cantaloupe, broccoli, snap peas, potatoes, onions, jalapenos, Anaheim peppers, & Serrano peppers... I think that's it.

The Easter Bunny left "grills" in some of the eggs.
OH, Easter Bunny - such a sense of humor!

Here's Lexi hunting eggs!

"WE'RE GOING TO SEA WORLD!!!"

Cricket - in her dress, in her bed, with Ducky!
Hmmmm....

Easter Morning

Look what the Easter Bunny brought Crickett.

Lexi on Easter morning with her
Littlest Pet Shop decorating thing-a-ma-jig!

Easter Bunny brought Cooper more Monster Trucks!

And,... left 200 filled plastic eggs!
Seriously?!?!
It was just our two kids...
I think the Easter Bunny had a lapse in judgement!

The Easter Bunny left footprints all over the house!
Messy bunny - Guess who had to clean them all up?

Crickett got a pretty dress!

Cooper picked this one out!

Kids Bathroom Project

OK,... this project has been over a YEAR in the making!
So,... I figure if I post picture and everyone asks me
"Did you finish the bathroom yet?", it will motivate me!

This is the "Before"...
STRIPPED of everything but a toilet and new tub....

Stay tuned...

Easter Time!

My parents came into town the Thursday before Easter with my nephew.
We had lots of fun!

We also got to see my niece and we all went to the new Hannah Montana movie.

Since my niece and nephew would be in Dallas for Easter,
the kids got to start celebrating early!

Here is Lexi with her new Taylor Swift CD.

Cooper and his hot wheels tracks!

The girls....

The boys...

Grandma Cissy & Big Daddy
with all of their grandkids!

It was a Happy Day!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Clarence & I are about to celebrate our 9th anniversary!
I can't believe it!!!
The weekend of our special day I will be with the dance teams performing at a local high school Spring Show. I was brainstorming on something fun to do,a nd saw that Jerry Seinfeld was headed to town.
So,... I bought tickets and surprised Clarence early.

Here we are about to go into the show.
I took the picture myself, and we were RUNNING to make it in on time,
I didn't see the glare.

There weren't anymore pictures taken. There were LOTS of security that were confiscating people's cameras & cell phones,
so I was NOT about to take the chance.

The show was HILARIOUS and we had a GREAT time!!!

YAY! It's Spring Time!!

It is finally starting to get warm here - which means a trip to the park.
Here's Cooper with some of his friends...

He is such a poser now -
I LOVE IT!

2nd Grade Music Program

At Lexi's school they had a cute 2nd grade Music Program.
It was based on "What I want to Be when I Grow Up".
Lexi did really good!

Date Night with Lexi

Lexi and I went out on a date and saw the Paul Taylor Dance Company at
Bass Concert Hall. I really liked it, and Lexi was indifferent.
It is a mix of ballet and modern dance, and she (and myself) were confused at some of the story lines. The dancing was beautiful though!
We had a great time!!

Teething in the Freezer Aisle

I am watching this new show, "In The Motherhood" on ABC. I think it is hilarious and takes me back to some of my "Mother of The Year" moments!! So,... thought I would share one. I submitted it on abc.com, so maybe they'll make it an episode... wishful thinking!!
Enjoy:

My one year old daughter was a horrible teether. Lots of pain and screaming. It was a day that I HAD to go to HEB, so I loaded her up, imagining that a few minutes would be OK. We get about half way through the store and she is crying and crying. I know that this will be my only chance to get to do shopping, so I keep it up. I try to give her teething biscuits, toys, distractions,... EVERYTHING! We make it to the freezer aisle and she has been crying for about 20 minutes and I am about to lose my brain. I look in the freezer case and I get a BRILLIANT idea! I see a frozen juice container. You know, the margarita mix in the cardboard tube! I think to myself, "Cold will help her pain". I quickly grab it and hand it to my daughter and put it up to her mouth. Well,... it was a great idea for 2.3 seconds... until she tried to take it out of her mouth. As she lets out a blood-curdling scream, she is stretching her tongue out at least 10 inches. I then had sudden flashbacks of "The Christmas Story" where the boy sticks his tongue on the pole. My daughter's tongue is now STUCK on the margarita mix and she is frantically trying to pull it off, and it is NOT coming off. OH MY,... think fast... people are starting to stare, wondering why there is a screaming baby who is stretching her tongue. I had to act quick... so,... I SPIT ON HER TONGUE! It was the only thing I knew that would un-stick it - water! Hey... don't judge me!

Leander Contest

In the middle of January, Lexi went to her first dance contest for the season.
She had a GREAT time and performed AWESOME!

Here is Lexi with her Gand-Daddy & Granny

Here are the girls after our long day!
GREAT job girls!

Cooper made funny faces at the camera as he waited for Lexi to perform.
He was such a trooper that day!!

Here we are back stage getting ready for the first performance!

Trip To Houston

The oldest dance team went to Houston for competition.
It was SO much fun!
Also, I was able to find some time to play with some of my friends!

We had dinner at Chuy's and hung out at the hotel.

Sarah, April, Me, Christy, & Lora.

Lora hung out with me all weekend and watched the girls compete.
I am SO blessed to have such fabulous friends!!

Cooper's Trip to the Firestation

Cooper recently had a trip to the Fire Station.
It was a LOT of fun and they teach the kids fire safety and show them what they look like "all dressed up", so in the case of an emergency, hopefully he won't be scared.

Here he is looking through the heat sensor thing-a-ma-jig...

They were even given goodie bags!!

Out of Control Bubbles!

I turn my back for one second, the kids filled the
bath tub up with a TON of bubbles and turned on the jets!

Bye Bye Bean Bag Chairs!

For the toy room, we have had these tired bean bag chairs FOREVER...
Well, probably just for a few years, but they are WORN OUT!

So,... we got some new chairs!

Daddy & Cooper put them together.

OH SO CUTE!

Fishing.... YES, Fishing!

One of Clarence's days off, we decided to go fishing in Stonewall at a family ranch.
Well,.. what that means is,... we had to ALL go get fishing poles, a tackle box, and everything else to go along with it.

Even though we didn't catch any fish, the kids had a BLAST!!
I always have fun as long as we're together.

It was SO muddy, we all had to wear rain boots. Luckily, I found some at Target on he way up there. I am SO glad we thought about it - flip flops would NOT have cut it!

Here are the videos of the kids casting. They both got really good! Cooper spent about half of the time throwing rocks in the water and seeing how big the splash could be! But, Lexi wanted to fish the whole time! Hopefully we can go back this summer!
