NO training wheels and scooters!

Lexi has been asking us for 2 years to please take off her training wheels.
Imagining that I would have to take her to an empty parking lot and work with her over and over again, I kept putting it off... over and over! YES - Mom of the Year

This past week, she was really bugging me, so on Saturday, Clarence & I were going to get the yard work done. I took her training wheels off, moved the seat up to the right height,
aired up the tires, gave her her helmet and turned her loose in the back yard. I told her that after working on the yard, I would help her.

WELL,.... by the time I got around to the back yard, she asked to come to the front.
Trying to prepare her, I told her, "OK,... but just know that riding on concrete is a lot different and you're probably going to fall."
Lexi is a perfectionist and I thought she should be prepared.

She came to the front, got on her bike, and rode it down the street!!
AMAZING!!!

congrats lexi!! lori, think of it this way, - you were just waiting until your motherly instincts told you that she was truly ready to do it - on her own. b/c as her mother, you knew that her perfectionist nature made her susceptible to a sense of rejection if she did not do it well the first time.
*and i don't even watch dr. phil!!*
