Music and Art Festival

While Grandma Cissy, Big Daddy, Cortheye, and Cylas were here, there was the AWESOME Music and Chalk Art Festival Downtown.
We decided last minute to go and SO glad that we did!!

Here are the kids overlooking all of the chalk art:

OF COURSE - there was face painting.
Cylas REALLY wanted a skeleton, and this is what he got:

Cooper did NOT want to get his face painted, so he hung out with Grandma Cissy:

Lexi just wanted a Smiley Face:

Cortheye wanted a Peace Sign:

Cooper's Facial expressions are GREAT!

PlayDate with the Head's

On a certain Saturday, Clarence had tickets to the tu Game. We invited our friends, Bailey & Cami over to play. We first went to the local high school Homecoming Carnival. YES, it was LOTS of fun... NO, I did not take pictures... :(
Let me just say.... a Hamster Ball was involved!
Later that day, the kids wanted to watch the game.
So,... the Big Kids got dressed up:

The Little Kids made Spirit Signs:

A nice & relaxing Saturday :)

Lexi's ACTUAL Birthday

Lexi turned 10 today... and let me tell you - it hit me harder than I thought.
She is NOW Double Digit... entering "tween-hood"... The days of 1-9 are OVER...
Where did the time go? So hard to understand
and to grasp at how quickly this all goes by.
So,... with that,... I take a DEEP breath and celebrate:
Lexi Turning 10!
The morning started off with Birthday Breakfast.
On the menu:
Buttermilk Pie!

Lexi got to celebrate at school.
I brought her Purple & Lime Green Sugar Cookies to pass out to her classmates.
As you can ONLY imagine... she did NOT want me to take this picture...
but - whatever!
Later that evening, her friend - Bailey, came over to eat Birthday Dinner :)

She got this AWESOME wall hanging for her new room.

Birthday Cake - Fruit Cookie

She was VERY determined:

Happy Birthday Sweet Loo Hoo!

Lexi's Slumber Party

Since we were re-doing Lexi's room for her birthday, it was decided she would not have a birthday party - *wink*wink*...
So, here is her NON-Birthday Party:
Cooper gave her 2 DVD's before her slumber party:
Camp Rock 2 & The Last Song.
Then, the guys headed out to Uncle Paul's.

Here's the whole crew:

Eating Pizza:

The ENTIRE night, the girls split into 2 teams and made up dance routines.
Each group was awarded either "Most Creative" or "Most Expressive".
YES... this happened ALLLLLLLL Night Long!!
But, it was SO great!!

Lexi's Birthday cake she designed herself.
With the help of HEB, she got exactly what she had imagined.

Make a Wish:

We did stop the dancing to paint each others' piggies.
I was supposed to have a couple of adult helpers, but it didn't work out.
I tried to do "nail art"... I should NOT quit my day job.
The girls kept saying: "It's OK - we know you don't work in a nail salon."

It really was such a SWEET night... ALL of the girls were all SO sweet.
The night ended with the girls passing out in the living room...
well - MOST of them.
I kept getting up to check on them.
At one point, 2 of the girls were playing pranks on the sleeping girls.
They had switched EVERYONE's blankets and had piled the couch cushions HIGH on Lexi and another girl. I finally had to shut the party down...
but they didn't really seem to mind :)
We are SO blessed to have so many great people as our friends!

Soccer!

Cooper has started a new sport - soccer.
He played indoor soccer when he was younger, but now he is playing FULL ON soccer. It was a bit of a hassle and scramble to get placed on a team that did not practice on Wednesday Nights - I had to stand FIRM on my ground.
But, we were blessed with the team
Inter Milan and a great coach - Coach Deborah.
We recently had BAD rain here, in which many of the local fields are under water, so we got to have one practice - which really was more of like a Meet-n-Greet.
That was on Thursday...
First Game was on Saturday...
VERY rough... the team had no idea really what was going on, but their hearts were really into the game and the boys were playing hard!
We lost 7-0 :(

Cooper's shoe fell off during the game... the Assistant Coach came to his rescue!

The second game on Sunday was AMAZING!
We were down 3-0, and Cooper made the first team goal!
He was SO excited and the parents were ALL jumping up and down, I didn't get any pictures... The team morale was back up high and the boys got another wind!
Shortly after, Cooper scored AGAIN!
The another boy, scored 2 more goals!!
Inter Milan WINS 4-3 :)
